Choose games after you know the space and who wants to play. Give guests a choice between active games, table games and conversation, and make watching an option too.

Check the rules, equipment and suitability of each activity for the people taking part. Ask someone to explain and run each scheduled game.

Make a short schedule

Choose an arrival activity and a few games for later. Keep the rest as alternatives if the weather, group size or mood changes. Put the start time, location and organizer beside each activity.

Tell guests where to find quieter activities and seating. Before packing away, collect borrowed equipment and check who is taking home any photographs or game materials.
