Plan personalized family gifts around your gathering date

Choose the date you need the gifts in your hands, not only the date of the gathering. If you are packing them before a trip or handing them to another household, that earlier handover is the date to plan around.

Record what the seller is estimating

Open the selected product and enter the delivery destination when checking its estimate. Record the date you checked it, the offered option and any questions for the seller. A delivery estimate for one product or address may not apply to the rest of your order.

Separate the steps on the planning sheet below:

• Agreeing on recipients, names and quantities.
• Submitting the order with complete personalization.
• Reviewing a proof, if that order includes one.
• Production or processing.
• Shipping to the receiving address.
• Checking the delivered goods, packing and handover.

Ask the seller whether the estimate already includes a proof or approval step. Do not add the same time twice, and do not assume that all steps happen at the same time. Keep the seller’s answer beside the product reference.

Work back from your own handover

Put your in-hand date on the sheet first. Leave a period that suits your plan for checking the delivered items and packing them. Then compare that date with the seller’s current estimate rather than subtracting a generic number of weeks.

For example, if one household leaves home on December 20 for a December 24 gathering, December 24 is not a useful delivery target for that household’s address. The organizer needs to settle an earlier receipt and handover plan. These example dates do not describe a shop deadline.

If the estimate does not fit, ask about available options before ordering. A faster shipping option does not by itself change the time needed to make the item.

Keep one person responsible for replies

Choose who watches for order questions and any proof the seller offers. Give that person the checked spelling, accents, dates and fixed-design details. If wording changes, update the order notes and make sure the seller has acknowledged the change.

Do not assume every personalized product includes a customer proof or that edits remain possible after production starts. Use the policy and instructions for the specific order.

Inspect before you wrap or distribute

Compare delivered items with the order list while labels and packaging are still available. Check quantities, variants and printed wording. Contact the seller about differences with the order details and clear photographs, then keep the affected items identifiable.

Mark packing and handover as separate jobs. The person receiving a parcel may not be the person bringing it to the gathering.
