Write a host brief before shopping
Record the gathering date, place and expected households. Ask whether guests should arrive together or drop in. Confirm who can answer gift questions and whether opening presents is part of the plan. Put that decision on the schedule so a host does not introduce it as a surprise activity.
Choose wording that can stay private
If the baby’s name is not being shared, use wording the parents approve without it. Avoid printing an expected birth date as though it were a confirmed arrival date. Check all fixed words in a design before buying; changing a name field will not necessarily change the rest of the artwork.
Keep adult favors separate from baby supplies
Count favors for the invited guests and describe who each item is for. A decorative keepsake is not a baby toy. If several hosts are packing bags, label the contents and quantities on one master list and check a finished bag together before packing the rest.
